This course is designed to meet the requirements for training in the Engine room resources management for engineers’ officers in charge of an engine watch, based on regulation III/1, section A-III/1, section A-II/1 and, Table A-III/1 to the optimal use of the human and technological resources available to achieve the realization of a safe engine watchkeeping in accordance of the International Convention on standards of training, certification and Watchkeeping for seafarers, 1978, as amended.
Knowing what to do, when to do it and do it well, saves a life; thus, avoiding complications and minimizing the risks of danger and pollution at sea. This being, clearly the essence of all seafarers who are at seas.
That is why the structure of the course has been developed, seeking that the participant is competent and has the appropriate aptitude to develop the skills, abilities and perform within their tasks and functions on board.
